Gocompare.com and Fold7 Debut New Advert "Go Go Power" - Meet the whole team.

Posted on 6:25 PM by veer

Gocompare.com is launching a new TV ad on Christmas Eve showing its money saving heroes ‘busting a gut’ to get customers the right deal on their insurance policies and household bills.

The new ad, created by Fold7, marks a new chapter in Gocompare.com’s campaign, this time focusing on the characters who inhabit the fictional town of LlandofsavingmoneyandgettingtherightdealgogoGoCompare. The spot aims to demonstrate the comparison site’s promise of ‘working harder for you’.

In the 60-second TV ad, called ‘Go Go Power’, the deal finding characters that were introduced in previous TV ads all come together as a team for the first time. The ad shows them springing into action at the touch of a button, ready to do everything they can to save customers money and find the right deals.

The characters are: Mick and Mike, the mechanics and car insurance experts; Glynn, aka the ‘House Whisperer’, for home insurance; Leo the ‘Wiggle Workout’ instructor who helps people get their energy and credit card bills into shape; the optician who lets people see policy details more clearly with Defaqto lenses; and Julie the tour guide, the human homepage and team leader.

The ad will run on TV and VOD channels and will be supported by radio ads.

Kevin Hughes, chief marketing officer at Gocompare.com, said: “Over the last year we have introduced audiences to the various characters who live and work in the Llandofsavingmoney, all of whom specialise in finding people the right deals on various insurance, money and energy products. With this advert we want to bring them all together and demonstrate how, as a team, all of us at Gocompare.com work harder to help our customers.”

Ryan Newey, executive creative director at Fold7, said: “Gocompare.com is dedicated to going the extra mile for its customers and we wanted this campaign to reflect that through the characters who live in LlandofsavingmoneyandgettingtherightdealgogoGoCompare. They’re the super heroes of price comparison.”

Saatchi & Saatchi New York New Campaign Asks America to Confront Difficult “Talk”

Posted on 6:12 PM by veer

A provocative new campaign from Brotherhood SisterSol—a youth organization centrally involved in reforming NYPD’s “Stop & Frisk” policies— focused on raising awareness of “the Talk” that takes place in black households across America.

Created by Saatchi & Saatchi New York, portrays several intimate discussions between black parents and their children about how to avoid potentially dangerous police encounters, but ends with a white father telling his teenage son that the police are there to help. The spot draws attention to the stark contrast on this issue in black and white homes, and asks the question, “Do we want one America … or two?”

"The Talk" is the term often used to describe the conversation black parents have with their children, especially teenage boys, about how they should conduct themselves when they encounter the police.

We believe this initiative—which also features a website and social media elements—has the power to effect cultural change, and get America “Talking About The Talk.”

While this oftentimes painful discussion is a commonplace in African-American households, many white homes are unaware these conversations are even taking place. Coming in the wake of the recent grand jury verdicts in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases—and with ongoing protests across the country—the spot could not be more timely or prescient.

ABC, The Chew - 'Enjoy the Ride' - Extended Version - Happy Holidays 2014

Posted on 4:06 AM by veer

Animation/design studio leftchannel perfectly captures the holiday spirit in a new :60 promo for ABC-TV’s daytime cooking/lifestyle show The Chew. Seamlessly blending live action, still photography, CG animation and motion graphics, the piece follows the cast through a breathtaking holiday thrill ride through this culinary wonderland being prepared around them.

“This was a collaborative effort between ABC and us,” Alberto Scirocco, leftchannel’s Creative Director says. “They came to us with a rollercoaster ride idea that incorporated photos of the cast. We took that concept and ran with it. We wanted to make this something that would stand out from traditional holiday TV fare, emphasizing character animation and a CG world that felt both unique and familiar.”
Inspired in part by the classic Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated classics like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” The Chew promo, entitled “Enjoy The Ride,” uses a combination of production techniques -- from traditional live action and still photography to 2D/3D animation, extensive rotoscoping and motion graphics to craft something that feels truly magical.

“We had such a great time working with ABC to bring this crazy little adventure to life,” Andy Taylor, leftchannel Producer says, “we’re thrilled with how it came out and how it captures all the fun of the holidays.”

Timber and Epoch Films’ Matt Swanson Harness The Power Of “Bees” For San Diego Zoo and Agency M&C Saatchi

Posted on 4:02 PM by veer

Bees” is a surreal look at how children’s imaginations are sparked through animal encounters – in this case, the Tiger Trail at San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park. Director Matthew Swanson of Epoch Films teamed with Timber to bring the buzzworthy spot for the San Diego Zoo to life via agency M&C Saatchi.

The commercial, part of a multi-spot campaign, reveals how one boy taps mysterious powers after exploring the Tiger Trail, the Safari Park’s home of the majestic big cats. Working closely with the agency creative team, director Matt Swanson and Timber teamed to create this magical tale, a seamless blend of live action, CG and a few million bees.

“We came to Timber with a pretty crazy idea – let's show a kid with a full grown beard... and not just any beard, but one made entirely out of bees,” explains Maria Smith, Associate Creative Director, M&C Saatchi LA. “Their team made our impossible scenario a reality, and they did it with beautiful attention to detail. The effects were magical, and they helped us create a mesmerizing piece of film,” “Any other way would’ve had child protective services after our asses,” adds James Bray, Executive Creative Director, M&C Saatchi LA.

The pivotal bee scene involved side-by-side shoots with Matthew Swanson directing the live action narrative and Timber on the Bee-camera. The boy, filmed wearing a fake beard adorned with a single layer of 200 bejeweled fabric bees created by Production Designer Justin Trask, meets a girl who asks about his preternatural abilities. With the help of a bee wrangler, Timber shot a million bees swarming in formation on the face of a child-sized dummy. Timber would replicate each scene directed by Swanson by moving the dummy to approximate the boy’s action so that they could digitally adhere the bees onto the bee beard scenes in post.

“The agency's core idea behind each spot including ‘Bees’ was so beautifully odd - I just tried to push them as far as I could tonally,” recalls Director Matthew Swanson. “Getting the bee beard right was definitely a challenge. I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like, but getting there with somewhat limited time and resources wasn't easy. There were a lot of conversations between myself, my production designer Justin Trask, and Timber Creative Director Jonah Hall. We literally had swarms of bees out in the open in a public park in studio city - still impressed that we were actually allowed to do that. Happy to report not a single person was stung.”

The shots were digitally united by the Timber team, which also created CG bees for the interior and exterior shots of the school bus where the school children meet.

“Everyone at Timber was really incredible to work with,” says Swanson. “They were really committed to the process from our very first conversations, and delivered impressively on everything we talked about. They seemed much more interested in offering solutions than pointing out problems, which makes my life a lot easier. I can be a little fastidious when it come to small details, particularly in the very final finishing stages, and the entire team at Timber made sure there wasn't a single i undotted or t uncrossed.”
