ABC, The Chew - 'Enjoy the Ride' - Extended Version - Happy Holidays 2014

Animation/design studio leftchannel perfectly captures the holiday spirit in a new :60 promo for ABC-TV’s daytime cooking/lifestyle show The Chew. Seamlessly blending live action, still photography, CG animation and motion graphics, the piece follows the cast through a breathtaking holiday thrill ride through this culinary wonderland being prepared around them.

“This was a collaborative effort between ABC and us,” Alberto Scirocco, leftchannel’s Creative Director says. “They came to us with a rollercoaster ride idea that incorporated photos of the cast. We took that concept and ran with it. We wanted to make this something that would stand out from traditional holiday TV fare, emphasizing character animation and a CG world that felt both unique and familiar.”

Inspired in part by the classic Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated classics like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” The Chew promo, entitled “Enjoy The Ride,” uses a combination of production techniques -- from traditional live action and still photography to 2D/3D animation, extensive rotoscoping and motion graphics to craft something that feels truly magical.

“We had such a great time working with ABC to bring this crazy little adventure to life,” Andy Taylor, leftchannel Producer says, “we’re thrilled with how it came out and how it captures all the fun of the holidays.”

Harrods Presents: The Land of Make Believe - A Little Christmas Tail

Harrods has rolled out an animated festive film across its social media and digital channels and has unveiled its Christmas windows, created by 11 luxury designers.
The activity marks the first time the luxury retailer has used a video ad in the run-up to the festive period.

The short film, called 'the land of make believe', is shot like a children’s story and tells the tale of a small mouse called Peter Pumpernickel, who helps Father Christmas turn the lights on at Harrods.

The film, created by TBWA, is being shown at selected cinemas and promoted on Harrods’ social media and digital platforms.

The retailer also unveiled its famous Christmas window display on Friday. Eleven luxury designers created a series of bespoke, hand-crafted pieces for the displays with each scene inspired by oversized vintage toys - from a jack-in-the-box to a pirouetting ballerina in a musical box.

Stella McCartney created a ‘snow queen’ sitting in a snowglobe dressed in a hand-stitched gown embellished with unique stones and exclusively available for purchase.

UK furniture designer Amy Somerville created a giant wooden musical box with an art deco mirror and a spinning ballerina dressed in a Zuhair Murad tutu.

Deborah Bee, director of creative marketing, Harrods, said: "Christmas at Harrods is a truly enchanting time for everyone. ‘The Land of Make Believe’ brings the festive magic of the store to life, encouraging Londoners to enjoy Harrods as the ultimate Christmas destination that’s perfect for the whole family."

PANDORA and Fold7 Beautiful New Holiday Ad Celebrates "Wherever Life Takes Us"

Following the appointment of Fold7 to work with the global marketing team of PANDORA, one of the world’s biggest jewellery brands, headquartered in Denmark; PANDORA has launched a major new global brand TV commercial (TVC) concept celebrating life’s unforgettable moments.

The new TVC’s tagline “Wherever life takes you, take it with you”, developed by Fold7, enforces PANDORA’s position of creating jewellery which marks life’s special moments. The campaign features a bespoke track, written and composed by upcoming UK artist Gabrielle Aplin especially for PANDORA, called “Moments”.

The TVC charts the special moments a woman experiences throughout her life, while focusing on the PANDORA products she is wearing. As she lives through all of the moments, she adds to her collection of jewellery to help remember and treasure each experience.

Gabrielle Aplin will also appear in online content created as part of the campaign, including behind-the-scenes videos, which will be supported by global PR activities and promotions on PANDORA’s own online and social media platforms.

The TVC campaign will be launched in the UK on 24th November and in other markets around the world, such as the US, Australia, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden and more. The work will be adapted for local markets and will feature as 30, 20, 15 and 10-second versions.

Vodafone Christmas Advert 2014 "Power To The Festive"

Vodafone celebrates 'local heroes' in biggest ever Christmas ad. Despite having to work over the festive period, the "local heroes" are shown to be full of Christmas cheer and bursting into song, as they watch the film on their device.

The campaign uses the hashtag #PowerToTheFestive, and aired last night on Channel 4. Frozen is one of the films on Sky Movies this Christmas.
The one-minute spot by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R will also appear in 40- and 20-second cut downs.

Mick Mahoney is the executive creative director on the campaign. Richard Barrett took charge of art direction, and James Manning looked after copywriting. Pete Riski directed the film through Rattling Stick.

Rupert Williams, the managing director at RKCR/Y&R, said: "We wanted to bring to life the joy of being able to watch Sky films and TV shows wherever you are this Christmas on Vodafone 4G.

"Singing along to Let it Go from the film Frozen does that in spades. The team that worked on the ad may never be able to get the tune out of their heads though."

Daryl Fielding, the director of brand marketing and communications at Vodafone, said: "Like many people across Britain, joining in with the Let it Go anthem inspires them and lifts their spirits."
